Sanitation monitoring systems from Hygiena are world-class - widely recognized as top of the line devices and are in fact preferred over similar products based on ease-of-use, performance and cost. 

    • EnSURE Luminometer – a quality monitoring system that employs a single-device platform to collect, analyze and report data. The EnSURE system uses state-of-the-art photodiode sensor technology, making it much more superior in sensitivity and stability compared to bulky Photomultiplier Tube (PMT) sensor designs. This technology allows EnSURE devices to be much smaller, lighter and more durable. ENSURE is the first ATP Monitoring system that can also perform microorganism tests within 8 hours.   • ATP Tests

    • Surface Tests

      ATP surface testing is a rapid way to verify if particular spots that have been cleaned recently are actually contaminant-free, so that they may continue to be used. In food manufacturing, this ensures that new product runs will not pick-up biofilms that may have been developing on production surfaces and potentially affect product quality.
      • UltraSnap™ - This is an all-in-one, pen-sized ATP sampling test designed to be used with Hygiena luminometers. It is easy to use, featuring a 3-step procedure (Collect – Activate – Measure). It uses a liquid-stable reagent, unique in its superior accuracy, more reproducible results and signal strength that lasts longer.
      • SuperSnapTM - Touted as the “Next Level of ATP Detection”, SuperSnap all-in-one ATP surface test device is the most sensitive test in its category. It is able to detect very low levels of ATP such that it can be used as a prevention tool against allergen cross-contamination. It is also suitable for harsh samples. Using SuperSnap can catch potential surface contamination risks and help identify necessary corrective actions in production.
    • Liquid Tests

      ATP testing is just as reliable to use on liquid samples as it is on surfaces. There are 2 types of ATPs that are tested for in liquid samples, free-floating ATP and ATP that is contained in living cells. In (clean-in-place) CIP Systems, testing for biological contamination entails sampling the water from the last rinse of the CIP cycle. If ATP is found in the sample, the cleaning cycle is deemed unsuccessful1.
      • AquaSnap Total– This is an all-in-one sampling and test device for both free-floating ATP as well as viable ATP within living cells. This test provides a rapid indication of microbial control as well as being useful for the detection of biofilms within water systems2.
      • AquaSnap Free– This test measures only the amount of free-floating ATP found outside of the cells. The difference in the result of this test and that of a Total ATP test will be the actual microbial ATP load (contamination) of the sample3.
    • Universal ATP Tests

      Hygiena’s ATP test devices are so designed to be more affordable than other brands. The Universal line of Hygiena test devices can be used on BioControl™ and Charm™ luminometers, giving an opportunity for companies who have them to save cost on the test devices.
      •  SnapShot-Charm/ SnapShot-BioControl – These are the universal surface ATP test devices that are compatible with luminometers other than Hygiena’s own EnSURE and SystemSURE Plus. These are able to detect ATP levels as low as 1ppm.
      • WaterShot – This line of ATP test devices is designed for liquid samples and are compatible with other luminometer brands.
        •  WaterShot Total–This universal ATP test for liquid samples is compatible with 3M and BioTrace luminometers. It tests for and counts total ATP in the sample (free-floating ATP and microbial ATP).
        •  WaterShot Free–This universal ATP test for liquid samples is compatible with 3M and BioTrace luminometers. It tests for and measures free-floating ATP in the sample.

 

  • Other Hygiena Tests

    •  Surface Residue Test

These on-the-spot surface tests employ a simple color-test where the reagent changes color when it comes into contact with the collected sample.

      • Pro-Clean – This is a protein residue detection test. It is very easy to use, with 2 step procedure that involves collecting sample from a 10cm x 10cm surface and inserting it into a tube containing a reagent. The color of the liquid reagent will change within 60 seconds. Ideal for testing food contact surfaces, the color of the liquid will turn purple indicating the presence of food residue (protein) which means that particular surface was not thoroughly cleaned.
      • SpotCheck Plus – This is a food safety residue test that detects lactose and glucose. It is a simple 2-step procedure – collection and activation. The liquid reagent will change colors when it comes into contact with the sample-laden collection swab. If the color does not change within 2 minutes, the tested surface is deemed clean. If the color turns green, it means lactose and glucose have been detected. The level of surface contamination is indicated by how dark the color turns and how quick it changes.
    • Microorganism Test

This platform of tests features the advantages of both an ATP test and a bacterial culture within an 8-hour period. The tests are read by the EnSURE monitoring system.

      • MicroSnap
        • MicroSnap E. coli – This 8-hour test for the detection and enumeration of E. coli bacteria. It uses a bioluminogenic test reaction that produces light when specialized substrates in the test device reacts with enzymes characteristic of E. coli. The amount of light produced is measured by the EnSURE luminometer.
        • MicroSnap Coliform – This is an 8-hour detection and enumeration test for Coliform bacteria. It employs a bioluminogenic test reaction that produces light when specialized substrates in the test device reacts with enzymes characteristic of Coliform bacteria. The amount of light produced is measured by the EnSURE luminometer.
        • MicroSnap Total Viable Count– Total viable count is the quantitative representation represents the number of CFUs/g or CFUs/ml of bacteria, yeast and mold in the sample. MicroSnap TVC results can be read within 7 hours, using a bioluminogenic reaction between viable bacteria and the liquid substrate inside the test device.
        • MicroSnap Coliform & E. coli Enrichment Device – This test is designed for the rapid detection and enumeration of coliform and E. coli bacteria, and is used with EnSURE luminometer. Results are available within 6 hours for enumeration and 8 hours for qualitative analysis (presence or absence)
        • Digital Dry Block Incubator –This is a portable incubator designed especially for the MicroSnap testing devices. It operates at 37°C, the temperature at which E.coli and coliform thrive. It can hold 12 simultaneous tests.
      •  InSite Listeria – Listeria monocytogenes is a foodborne disease-causing bacteria. It causes meningitis and/or encephalitis and is understandably very scary to contract. This is a stand-alone color-change test device that returns results within 24-48 hours and is ideal for food processing facilities.
      •  Insite Salmonella - Salmonella is a group of bacteria that causes food poisoning, typhoid fever, gastroenteritis, enteric fever and other illnesses, mostly through ingestion of contaminated food like eggs and poultry. This self-contained test is a quick and easy way to detect salmonella in food manufacturing environments. A color-change will indicate the presence or absence of salmonella within 24-48 hours.
    • Allergen Prevention Test

Practically any food can cause an allergic reaction, but there are a few that have been identified as to cause most reactions. These are eggs, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, milk, soy, wheat and sesame.

      • AllerSnap – Testing for specific allergens is time consuming and costly. AllerSnap offers an ideal solution by testing for all-protein residues, effectively screening for a broad range of allergens. It is a quick and easy 2-step procedure that involves 1) swabbing for samples and 2) activating the test, which delivers results within 15-30 minutes by changing the color of the reagent.
      • AllerFlow – This is a surface test kit for gluten residue (wheat, oats, barley, rye). Quick and easy to use, this test device can detect gluten residue at very low levels – as little as 5ppm.
      • SuperSnap– This is a highly-sensitive ATP detection test that is able to detect as low as 1ppm. It also measures total bacterial load (microbial/non-microbial) on wet or dry surfaces and is used on the EnSURE luminometer.
    • Sample Collection

      • Q-Swab (BPW)/ Q-Swab (Letheen) – These are Hygiena’s environmental sample collection and delivery devices. No bags, sponges or pipettes required. Each snap valve contains 1ml of either BPW or Letheen broth. The buffered peptone water (BPW) aids in the recovery of bacteria and the Letheen broth is ideal for neutralizing residual surface sanitizers. These collection swabs can be used either wet or dry.
